Entire agreement:
​
The Pup Run is a trade name of myself, Michelle Reed.
This agreement contains the entire agreement between the parties and/or supersedes all previous agreements and understandings between the parties. Each party acknowledges that, in entering into this agreement, they do not rely on any representation, warranty, information or document or other term not forming part of this agreement.
These terms and conditions is the agreement between you (the client) and The Pup Run (“I“, “us”, “we”, etc). These terms and conditions are in conjunction with the Client Registration form, Veterinary Release form and Key Release Trust form and Off Lead Disclaimer form (if applicable) and are governed by English Law.

​Please read this agreement carefully, your understanding and acceptance is by way of engagement of services from The Pup Run.​​

Meet and Greet
-
Free, no obligation meet and greet will be arranged prior to services commencing.

Prices
-
Prices are at the current rates, mileage charge may apply.
-
Bookings for Ad-hoc clients (booking as and when required) prices are charged at a higher rate to Regular clients (a least 1 regular booking per week).
-
Out of hours services will be charged at time and a half, weekends and bank holidays will be charged at the double rate.
-
Rates are normally subject to review at the start of the financial year (1st April of any given year). The Pup Run reserve the right to review rates and charges from time to time.

The Pup Run reserve the right to charge a session retainer fee, at my discretion.

Payments
-
Payment in advance is preferred, alternative arrangements can be discussed and agreed by both parties and put in writing. Invoices are issued on 25th monthly, by WhatsApp or email and payment due on the last day of the month. Prompt payment is very much appreciated. Alternative payment arrangements can be made at my discretion. These will need to be agreed by both parties and put in writing.

Payment method – payment link will be messaged to you via Whatsapp or you can pay by bank transfer, details found on invoice.

Late payments - The Pup Run will not be obliged to honour any further bookings arrangements until outstanding payments have been cleared.

Hours of work, Holidays, Sickness
-
Hours of work for services are usually Monday – Friday 09:00 – 17:30 inclusive. Happy to be contacted through messages or emails outside of these hours.

Weekends and all public holidays are at the quoted rates X2, evenings (after 17.30) are at the quoted rate and half. All works are subject to The Pup Run schedule.

Holidays – The Pup Run will be unavailable for services for 28 days of the year including Public Holidays. You will be notified of these dates as soon as possible and no later than 4 weeks in advance. These dates will be recorded on your monthly invoices for you to refer to and on The Pup Run website. You will not be charged for these dates. If however, under exceptional circumstances, and provided I can accommodate, I will cover a service but this will be charged at quoted rate X2.

Sickness – in the unlikely event I cancel due to sickness I will inform you as soon as possible by text message. A full refund will be given.

Insurance, DBS and Training.​​

Full commercial insurance is held – comprising Public Liability, Care, Custody and Control, Key Cover and Non-Negligent​

Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) verified.
-
Professional Dog Walkers Association verified and compliant.
-
First Aid Certificate holder.
-
IMDT – Professional Dog Walking, Tellington TTouch Training – Talk Dog.
-
All certificates available on request.

Health & Safety and Law​
-
All dogs to have own collar and identity tag. Collar with name tag and microchip ID is a legal requirement.
-
All dogs are walked subject to behaviour assessment and trial period. If to be walked in a group, an assessment and trial period will be needed to determine suitability to the group.

The Pup Run will ask you if you would prefer your dog to be walked on or off lead. Dogs will be kept on leads initially but once I have formed a good relationship and with your permission, I will allow your dog off lead – but only after I have tested for an effective recall in a variety of environments and circumstances, if safe to do so for your dog, myself and other members of the public who may also be within the vicinity; and subject to all relevant law and regulation national and local. An Off Lead Disclaimer will be required to enable me to let your dog off lead.

All dogs to be fully vaccinated including Kennel Cough and on a regular worm and flea treatment regime. Any dog deemed not to be adequately treated will not be walked. Titre tests are accepted.

No group walks for female dogs in season, pregnant dogs or ill dogs. Instead, home visits or solo walks can be arranged rates apply and are subject to availability. Please contact me as soon as possible so we can alter arrangements.

Reactive dogs may be muzzled for safety of all parties, prior training to wearing a muzzle must have been completed, owner to supply a correct fitting muzzle.

Adverse weather conditions may lead to a limited service. Mutual communication is required. e.g. but not limited to; In very wet conditions, walks may be curtailed to ensure enough pet drying time; snow may lead to delays, change of service or cancellation of service; hot weather may lead to change of service or cancellation. The Pup Run will notify you at the earliest convenient time.

In emergency situations permission to take your pet to a Vet is required. It is very important that you fill in a Vet Release Form providing The Pup Run with details of your current Veterinary Practice, and an alternative contact and telephone number should I be unable to contact you. If you or your alternative contact cannot be reached, The Pup Run reserves the right to consult with a veterinary surgeon to make a decision which is in the best interest of your dog. The Pup Run recommends you contact you Veterinary Practice and inform them that The Pup Run will be providing a service for your dog so they can keep a note on record.

All dog walking is carried out in compliance with all appropriate law, including but not limited to Animal Welfare Regulations, Dangerous Dogs Act, local authority bye laws, PDWA Best Practice and PDWA Ethical Working Practice.

In accordance with the law, mess is always cleared up using only degradable waste bags.

The Pup Run aims to ensure as far as practicable the care, welfare, wellbeing, safety and security of your pet and premises throughout our care session.

The Pup Run is commitment to you
-
Where dog walking agreement applies, the rate is inclusive of collection / safe return, to dog exercise area, exercise period, treats, clear up of mess, full insurance and daily activity report. Solo walks, 45 minutes. Groups walks 1 hour from collection of the last dog. Walks are usually within your local area or at a designated local dog walking location.

Dog walking can be one to one (solo walks) or with a small group of a maximum 4 dogs per group, for maximum care, attention and safety, at the discretion of The Pup Run, subject to availability and behaviour assessment. Bookings can be done on a regular basis (same days and times each week) or Ad-hoc (when the need arises).

Where home visit agreement applies, the rate is inclusive of services agreed.

Upon engagement The Pup Run will communicate by text to report on progress.
-
I endeavour not to interrupt your busy day unless there is an emergency. If I telephone please be aware that I would need to speak to you urgently.
-
I will endeavour to accommodate short notice / emergency bookings as best as possible, subject to feasibility and schedule.
-
Please keep me updated with your training including visual and vocal cues you use so I can continue this.
-
The Pup Run is responsible for any NI, income tax and pension contributions incurred because of receipt of payment from you.
-
Security of key and premises is assured always. All keys will be unidentifiable to anyone outside of The Pup Run and kept in a secure place. A Key Release Trust form will need to be completed by you.

Keys will not be labelled to identify you or your address.
-
Keys will be returned at the end of the contract or any time upon request in a safe, timely and professional manner.
-
I will not loan, duplicate or use the keys issued to me in any unauthorized manner.
-
I accept responsibility for the cost of replacement keys/cards, rekeying locks and any associated damage or losses should I lose the keys or should the keys be lost, stolen or misused while in my possession.

The Pup Run will only access areas within your home to carry out my duties as agreed with you.
-
Cancellation of service by myself: if I must cancel or reschedule a session, I will provide you with as much notice as is reasonably possible.
-
I will not be liable for any failure or delay in carrying out my service where that failure or delay results from any cause that is beyond my reasonable control, such causes include, but are not limited to, fire, explosion, flood, storms, epidemic or other natural disaster. If any event should occur that is likely to adversely affect my service, I will inform you as soon as is reasonably possible. My services may be suspended at my discretion and any time limits that I am bound by will be extended accordingly. I reserve the right to charge a session retainer fee at my discretion.

I will inform you when the event outside of my control is over and provide details of any new dates, times or availability of services as necessary.

For regular clients who book at least 1 regular weekly booking with the Pup Run will receive Free Loyalty walks. After 19 paid, consecutive bookings on their regular days, the 20th walk will be given for free.

Your responsibilities

By booking with The Pup Run you agree to the terms and conditions set out in this agreement.
-
Bookings are to be made and paid for in advance unless alternative arrangement have been discussed, agreed by The Pup Run and put in writing.
-
Full and easy access to dogs is required. For expediency, you shall allow access to The Pup Run via a mutually compatible method. Failure to provide full and easy access for The Pup Run to carry out agreed duties will incur charge of the agreed rate and the possibility of no walk / visit that day.

You must accurately and truthfully provide all relevant details about your dog and any specific requirements relating to your dog as required on the Client Registration form; this includes but not limited to behavioural issues, likes, dislikes.

You must disclose any information about your dog if he/she is subject of any control order, breaches and/or prosecution, particularly under the latest revisions of the Animal Welfare Act, the Dangerous Dogs Act, Dangerous Dogs (Amendment) Act, the Dogs Act or any other applicable laws and advise immediately should your dog become subject to any orders, breaches or prosecutions after your booking has been accepted.

Advise as soon as possible any adverse health issues of your dog.

There are two types of bookings with The Pup Run.
-
Regular Bookings - walks will automatically continue at the same time, week after week, provided advance payment is made or until 4 weeks’ notice is given by either party to terminate the contract.

Ad hoc (as and when the need arises)/ short notice or emergency bookings will be accommodated as best as possible, subject to feasibility and schedule. They are paid prior to the service commencing via payment link or Bank Transfer.

Ensure prompt payment of invoices, terms as per section 2 above.
-
Provide dog towels, dog coats (if applicable) special dietary treats and, oral medication if required. Feeding and Oral medication administration instructions to be given in writing.

Keep The Pup Run up to date with emergency and full daily contact details as applicable.

Any special requirements to be advised soonest.
-
You agree to reimburse The Pup Run for any additional fees for providing emergency care, as well as any expenses incurred for unexpected visits, transportation, housing, food, or supplies.

Any Vet fees / associated transport costs incurred because of sickness or ill health with your pet whilst in the care of The Pup Run are payable by you.
-
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Pup Run of any key / entry related occurrences and/or damage to property if other third parties also have access to your home.

Cancellation
-
Cancellation of a regular booking by you - more than 4 week’s notice, will not incur a charge.
Less than 4 week’s notice will incur a charge of 50%.
Less than 24hrs cancellations will incur a full charge of the agreed rate.

I do, of course, understand that unavoidable issues come up and will do my best to work with you in case of an emergency.

Reschedule a session is subject to feasibility and schedule with.
-
Ad-hoc bookings will not incur a charge although as much notice as possible would be appreciated.

You confirm that you have answered all questions truthfully and have not withheld any relevant information. You understand that non-disclosure of information may affect future service provision and negate The Pup Run liability insurance.

General Data Protection Regulations

I respect the information that I hold about you and I take the security of that information very seriously. All information held about you remains strictly confidential. My Privacy Policy provides more information on the data we hold about you, what I do with that data, who I share your data with and your rights under GDPR. The Privacy Policy is available to view at www.thepuprun.co.uk.

The Pup Run reserves the right to alter / reschedule plans in accordance with work schedule. Outside factors beyond reasonable control may affect service. E.g. this may include one to one walks or group walks as appropriate, rescheduling of visits, cancellation of service.

Termination of contract​

This contract can be terminated by either party given 4 weeks’ notice. Failure to give a full 4 weeks’ notice could result in charges.
Complaints
-
I believe in transparency and honesty. If you have a complaint or grievance about me and / or the service I provide please speak to me about it and I will do my best to clarify or find an amicable resolution.

Complaint to be email to michelle@thepuprun.co.uk, as much detail as possible should be given, what the complaint is about, date, location, etc. I will respond to your complaint within 24 hours.

Should a complaint escalate, it can be referred to the PDWA who, if they believe it falls within their remit, terms and best practice may investigate and mediate.
